Diana Trujillo is a Colombian-born Production Designer and Architect with a strong foundation in visual fine arts, now based in the United States. She began her career in the film industry as a visual consultant while pursuing her photography studies at The New School in New York City. Diana has since evolved into Art Direction and Production Design, seamlessly integrating her expertise in architecture, color theory, costume, and interior design to create cohesive visual narratives that resonate with audiences.
Over the past 20 years, Diana has played a vital role in more than 30 projects across Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. She has contributed to some of the most influential films and television series produced in Latin America, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the region known for her innovative work, unique style, and distinct aesthetics.
Her notable projects include the Golden Globe-nominated television series “Narcos,” where she crafted the show’s primary visual identity, drawing inspiration from the concept of magical realism in Season 1. Her portfolio also features creative designs for Netflix’s “Pálpito” Seasons 1 & 2, “Wild District” the vibrant contemporary series “Malayerba” on Apple TV, and Sundance Film Festival Audience Award-winning films “Undertow” and “Live Forever.”
Diana has led the art departments for various production services in South America, contributing to projects such as “Gemini Man” directed by Ang Lee, “Elizabeth Harvest“, “The 33,” and “Jungle.” Recently, she designed the political satire black comedy “Juanpis Gonzales: The People’s President” for Netflix, the tropical thriller “What You Wish For”, the coming-of-age original series “Los Billis” for Prime Video, and the woman rights period film “Estimados Señores” She has completed a collaboration for the second season of “The Night Manager,” filmed in Colombia and Andres Beltrán’s new FIlm, Ánima. Now designing a new Tv Series for Netflix based on an Iconic Novel set in 1958.
